I have recently moved to a house with a sunroom (not a conservatory)and not long after we were in did a beautiful song thrush fly into one of the windows and died shortly after. It was a horrific exsperience but then I found these stickers/silhouettes on amazon and they are easy to stick on and move around if you change your mind. They look good and we haven't had any bad accidents since.

By this time of the year we would have had over a dozen fatalities of young birds flying into our windows and breaking their necks

We fixed these silhouettes on our windows - they fit like sticking a tax disc holder in the car so easily removed - we chose the black ones cos birds don't see in colour.

How do they work? Some write that it is the bird attacking other birds - not so. Even the young birds have a built in desire to avoid a mid-air collison. The younger birds have poor brakes so a few have glanced off the windows - none have died from the head on impact

True, it looks a bit strange to have these stick on birds on your house windows but we'll peel them off for winter and we so much more prefer to safeguard our feathered friends than suffer slight interuption of views

So far, this product has been totally effective and I am highly satisfied. The stickers adhere well to the window pane, having stayed in place over many months, and through all weathers. They are non obtrusive, easily removed and replaced for window cleaning and give a pleasant overall appearance. As they can help with bird identification, they also have an educational aspect. Am thinking of purchasing another replacement set.
