I bought this because I was fed up with spilling compost all over the place when using a garden trowel to decant from a compost bin (or bag, if I was using bought stuff) into plant pots or other containers. I thought that because of its shape it might be more 'containing' than is a trowel. It definitely makes for more compost/soil in the container and less on the workbench or floor than using a trowel; but to me it does seem quite a bit more cumbersome to handle - maybe inevitable given that it holds so much more than a trowel. Glad I bought it though.

I just received my 'Plush cat cave' igloo style bed and my cat Tizzy loves it!
She was a bit wary of it to start off with (I had to pick her up and bundle her in) but next thing I knew she'd really made herself at home and was resting her chin on the fluffy bit, glued to Soccer Saturday and purring her heart out.
I bought it because my cat is elderly and has a bit of athritis in her hips. I wanted a cat bed that would block the draft from her back and keep her snug so I'm really pleased with this.

Absolutely Brilliant
I bought this originally for my Bunty who is 16 years old and a bit doddery and feels the cold. It arrived within two days or so - I was amazed. I got it out of the pack, fluffed it up and put Bunty in it - but she just put her nose up and walked off!! However, I have 19 cats (have a cat home here as well as part time job in London) and my other cats are taking it in turns, honestly, to kip in this Cosy. It is really good value and excellently made - and if you put your hand inside it, it is like a very soft cuddly fleece - no wonder they love it - and it is a private place they can snuggle down for the night (or day if they are like my cats!). My cats love it - and it looks good too, very stylish and of course, best possible point is that it is washable and therefore will last for many years. I am really pleased with it and would recommend to any cat, small dog owners - treat your pets - my lot love it, so now I need to order some more!!!

Cosy Cat's Cave
I got these hooded cave beds for our cats as special presents at Xmas to replace their usual stations on the couch. Initially they seemed a bit bemused by them but gradually got the idea. They now use them sporadically, in between commandeering the couch, but when they do it is usually accompanied by purring. The beds themselves are really well made and very cosy and plush, with a removable inner cushion that can be washed if needed, so great value for money. Mine came in a flattened state that required plumping up. At least they look better than scruffy blankets when we have guests! As cat beds are all quite expensive these days, the cheaper ones being pretty sad affairs, I'd say that the price for these Minou beds is very good, even for the financially challenged like myself!

Okay when it works
This has been a great product for the first few months after we bought it, allowing us to go away for the weekend without having to ask a neighbour to help. However after 6 months without warning it started to malfunction so when we switched it on it just went round and round without stopping and giving us to option to programme it. This caused huge problems as it was late at night and we were due to go away in the morning. There were no trouble shooting instructions to suggest what else we could do.

Have bought this feeder after trying a more expensive type which failed miserably. Our cat is on a diet so it works well in being able to measure out the amounts into the trays. Freedom!
I have a poorly cat which needs feeding 3 times a day, and feeding her at set times was a horrid restriction to our lives (as we couldn't go out over lunchtime!) this has freed up our lives and the at has never been so happy, as she get's fed at regular times.

As it feeds 6 meals, I only fill and set it every 2nd day, so if we need to go out overnight we can, it's such a blessing.

Highly recommended, worth every penny!

Nice bit of extra space but in hindsight a bit too expensive
I bought this because I thought the Ferplast Combi 2 was perhaps a little bit small and boring for Gus (my Russian Dward hamster). I bought the Ferplast 8" Straight Space Tunnel Hamster Mouse Tube to link the two.

Gus loves the LAB and has spent a lot of time in it, but I noticed that he was staying in the lower compartment and not ever climbing through the hole in the middle. This left him very little room to do anything. I've therefore removed the blue level so it's just an open bubble. Gus has more room to do things, and I could fit a food bowl/bed in there if I wanted to vary his Feng Shui. I'm pretty happy with this, but I think that in hindsight it's quite expensive for what it is.

Buyers beware
You have to be really careful with this product and I would firmly advise against it as you are wasting your time and money.
I wanted it because I have a 13 year old dog who is incontinent and wanted to see how he coped wearing diapers and if he felt comfortable.
The Sizes of these nappies are ridiculas. My dog is about as big as a collie dog, and I ordered off the size chart measuring him and decided upon the medium nappies. They got here, and they were about big enough to fit a yorkshire terrier. I now have a pack of nappies that are of no use to me.
I decided that I would give them one last chance and just opt for the Xlarge because although it says they are for german shepards and he's nowhere near that size, the sizing was so out on them I suspected that the Xlarge ones would be about right for an average sized dog. I was correct, they fit him just about right and would nowhere near fit even a lab never mind a large dog. They still are not brilliant, they fall down...

Nice and sturdy, and very popular with the birds!
This bird feeder is very easy to disassemble and clean. Every component comes apart for ease of cleaning, including the baffles, and they are fairly easy to put back together again. The birds love it, and I have greenfinches, goldfinches, chaffinches, robins and sparrows use it every day.
The baffle system also works well, meaning that there is an even amount of seed distributed per port.
The feeder was much larger that I expected, so make sure you read the product dimensions first!
The only thing is that the feeder does seem to attract more birds (when filled with sunflower seeds especially), so you will need a mountain of seed to keep it supplied!! The last time I filled it, it was only three weeks until this large feeder was totally emptied, and that was two kilos of seed!!

When I unwrapped this item, I was genuinely surprised at how big it actually was! If it was an aircraft, it would be an A380! It was shipped with the port perches not fitted,but they are easy to fit. The fiddly bit is detaching the top and bottom for cleaning. They are held in place by clear plastic tabs, and I was afraid I was going to break them, such is the force required to release them. The flip top makes filling a doddle.It takes a lot of seed to fill this feeder,so make sure you have a sturdy hanging point to support the extra weight. The birds were initially cautious of the new item, but after a few days, every port was full of Greenfinches,Goldfinches, Sparrows,and of course blue and Great Tits.I filled the top and bottom sections with seed mix, and the middle section with sunflower hearts. The feeder is a constant hive of activity, right outside my office window. The only time there are no birds, is when the local Sparrowhawk is on the prowl,which is thankfully rarely.

There are better feeders out there. Build quality of this one is okay, but the perching posts come out really easily and after them the baffles. I was going to glue them all in and forget being able to disassemble to clean, but when I got home there were so many parts out on the floor I did not bother! My guess is that the area's Starling flock arrived - knowing that we have such a flock, I looked for a sturdier feeder.

Description is misleading and a full refund is not provided
The base cover fits on to the side unit with 8 small pieces of Velcro. So with a circumference of about 4.6 meters its held on with about 8cms of Velcro. The overlap between side unit and base cover is about 1cms and in some areas (on corners) there is even less than that, once the base cover is pulled tight. So although the material may be water resistant, if your pet Pees near the edge it will leak between the join. So contrary to the advertised statement of leaks will not get through to your carpet. In fact they will. Thus the description is misleading. Also as the Velco is so small and pulled tight to get it to fix in all 8 places a slight brush of the hand will undo them, add to this the minimal overlap and there is a very good chance that your pet will get under the base cover and escape from the Pen. So in my opinion its not particularly safe. So for these two reasons I return the play pen before my puppy arrived.

Really easy to assemble. Excellent safe retreat for our new kitten, we just put it up at night. Big enough for her bed, litter and food, easy to clean but we haven't needed to. Flat packs in minutes. We took it to our in-laws xmas day to! She likes it, thats the main thing. Its sturdy, not sure re a dog, but for cats perfect....can also go outside with tent pegs included, so rabbit lovers would like it! for the price I cant fault it. serves a purpose and lets our older cats go in and out catflap without the worry she can. Medium size was perfect, you'd need a big kitchen if going bigger.

Clear Fence and wall spikes pack of 8

Prickle Strips
My purpose in buying them was to prevent foxes leaping over the wall. 2 minutes after fixing them, I watched a stray cat walk over them although not looking too comfortable. So I cannot recommend as a cat repeller.
The fox visits appear to have stopped but it is hard to be sure as they are so shy.
The strips themselves are certainly good value and as advertised. As with all such plastic products, gluing is not that easy and nailing down is better if feasible.
My other problem was with the colour. It is billed as clear which I hoped would sort of disappear in the garden. In practice it is quite white so the next time I bought brown ones which are less visible.

Bought this pen as an indoor pen for my rabbit so he has more space than just his hutch during the day. When it arrived there were no instructions in the box though it was fairly simple how to work out to put it together problem was there was nothing to hold the panels together as far as I could see but maybe I'm missing something (instructions would have been nice) So I had to go out and buy cable ties to join all the panels which means the enclosure works fine but means its not easy to dismantle and will be a waste of cable ties not what I was hoping for. The run its self is and ok size but definitely not big enough to exercise your rabbit in he'll have to get out into something a bit bigger. Overall I was expecting more from this product and am a bit disappointed

I also bought the Trixie floor mat and a ramp/ladder so that I could attach it to the indoor cage so that our guinea pig could have more space, particularly when we're out at work/school. This cage was bought as a run for guinea pigs. It is a good size and has two openings for access. It can be staked down at the corners. however the holes between the mesh were too big (the guineas could get through quite easily although) and i had to add extra chicken wire around the bottom.

I have looked everywhere for dog beds big enough for great danes and waterproof for wet days. These fit the bill completely. Really nice people and good customer service. The bed is not as robust as I expected it to be. It is lightweight and flimsy. The padding is not as stiff as I would like. That's the trouble with ordering on the internet and not seeing the product! The bed is waterproof and has 2 fleece covers. The covers attract the dog hairs and so look a mess immediately. The cover can't be hoovered as too loose and gets sucked up. I now use the bed without the supplied covers and put towels on top of it.Would not recommend it.

I buy mealworms as extra treats for my chickens ~ a good way to get them all into their house at night! Bribery! I like this collar. I prefer the soft ones to leather (hope the dog does)! With the quick release clip it's easy to get on and off when it needs adjusting and on my 5 month old dog who seems to grow at an alarming rate collars need adjusting frequently! It seems quite strong and you are more likely to dislocate your shoulder before the collar breaks. A red collar looks great on a black labrador too.

For some reason, the stitching beside the link for attaching to a lead is a long way (more than an inch) from the link so when the dog is on the lead, the collar tightens unnecessarily. It just needs a few stitches closer to the link which I did, but that shouldn't be the case. Strong fabric though.

I speak from a cat view not my own! Saves lugging them home from the shops. The only drawback is to get a cheaper deal you need to sign up to a regular order. My cats tire of cat foods and i constantly need to introduce alternative flavours..so this is a bit tricky in terms of storage until the like it again!

Summertime and the living is easy. . . .
I've bought this Bee nesting house for my partners little boy for easter instead of a boring old egg! Chocolate is so over rated in my opinion! ;)

At 20cm high and 12cm around the base this bee house is a good size for the garden. It's made from naturally weather resistant wood and has a lovely copper roof which will over time Verdigris (turn green!) which looks brilliant. It has the Royal Botanic Gardens official stamp in copper on the base.

This type of beehouse provides shelter for solitary bee types such as Mason and Leafcutter bees which are non aggressive.

The bee house is made up of around 70 tubes/hollow sticks. The female bee will use one hollow to make several cells. One will contain an egg and the others she will have stored a mixture of nectar and pollen to feed her larva once hatched!

Great Harness
The harness was delivered quickly and is well made and comfortable.

It was easily adapted to fit our 7mth old Lab Retriever, and has plenty of room to increase the size as/when he grows.

The harness is great for strapping our dog in to the rear seat belt holders, and is easily unclipped ready for attaching his lead for walking.

Impressed with the quality of this product and the price paid for it. I bought the largest size available (XL) as I have a cross breed Labrador x Chow Chow and he has a rather large barrel of a chest. Whilst it fits him well, I do feel that the straps could be a little bit longer so I could adjust them slightly more. I find when he's buckled in on the back seat he has to end up sitting and can't lie down easily as there is not much room for manouverability. Great for short distance car rides.

On the strenght of the reviews I purchased this item , extra large as some reviews did say the large one was too small for their dog & wished they had bought the larger one.

On receipt The item was well packed in a plastic sleeve with a carboard card bearing the instructions for use attached to the inside sleeve, this was impossible to remove without damaging the packing, in addition there was a colourful chart on the outside showing the various breeds and the size of harness recommended for each, what a pity this chart is not shown on the website,that would have been helpful,as the size for a boxer was clearly shown as Large, by the time you have received the item it is too late to decide which is best for your dog, therefore I would respectfully suggest the manufacturer puts this information on their site.
I found it to be too large for our boxer dog and decided to return it for the version large, so on to the Amazon website for the return instructions, this was...

Had been looking for a small-ish bowl for hanging on the inside of my puppy's crate and this is perfect - even the clasp is black, the same as the crate. Sturdy, perfect size and great price.

I'm not sure how others can critise the size of it when the measurements are clearly shown or expect the bowl to be attached to the ring, which it doesn't state that it is and which would mean it was much more fiddly to re-fill / clean so easily.

I purchased this as I have just had to buy a dog crate for my poorly pooch. I like the bracket which it fits onto the cage with as it has a plate which you put on the outer of the crate and then two butterfly washers to fasten. I use this in a 42" crate and is plenty big enough for my Dalmatian.

Cosipet Bandana, Red

Not quite as expected
This may sound dumb but I thought this would be a little more durable rather than simply a short piece of thin fabric. On a positive note the dog likes it. Would probably not buy again or just go into a fabric shop and ask for a sample and use that instead.

10 x small spikey cat ball toys

My cat has fun with them, but I was expecting a bigger size
There's a lot of them in the pack, sure enough, but since the photo of them doesn't show them next to any other items, and you have the measurement in mm, you can't really approximate the size that well (unless, of course, you go get a ruler).
It would work a lot better if the seller just made a new photo of them next to a cat. this way there would be confusion.

Other than that, my kitty loves chasing them around. I usually just let her have two or three to play with, and they eventually end up under a wardrobe or behind some furniture, so I have to track them down after a time. luckily, they are easy to wash and you can clean them of the dust immediately.

She loves chewing them a bit too, and really activates her hunting mode when they roll about towards her. It's fun to watch her enjoying herself.

definitely a fun addition to the cat toy collection!

I got knitted fish toys for my cat and she likes them but she really goes after these, hunting them down, pawing them like she would a mouse and then giving them a bit of a chew before putting them back in play. I recommend these if only to keep a cat chasing after them.

I bought these for my African Pygmy Hedgehog as she likes pushing balls around. You get a nice selection of colours and as there's plenty of them in the pack I decided to smear one or two with cat food so she could have fun trying to get all the food from between the spikes. Once she's done with it I can always throw the ball away since there's plenty more!

They come in a red plastic bag, similar to a crisp packet, with a picture of a cat on the front and a transparent panel which enables you to see the treats inside.

You get loads of biscuits in a bag, and if you give your cat a few of these every day as a treat, they will last for months and months. The biscuits are quite small, and a reddish brown colour. They are a biy grainy to the touch, and are shaped similar to a holly leaf, but with rounded edges. When you open a bag, you get quite a strong smell waft out at you. It is strong and meaty, but not unpleasant. In fact it makes you want to eat one! The smell gets on your fingers when you get them out of the bag.

Our cat really likes these, and my daughter keeps them in her room to give them to the cat in the hope that she will learn some tricks! You can play games with the cat, like hiding a treat and seeing if she can find it, or putting it in your closed fist and getting her to sniff it out. She jumps up is...

My chihuahua loves it!
Good kibble size, not too big or small, also very palatable for fussy little dogs! My dog appears to be keeping in really good condition, she eats more of this than her old food (through her choice!) and yet doesn't seem to put excess weight on, which was something I was concerned about due to her being spayed. I fully back Royal Canin's excellent work in breed specific diets. If you have a Chihuahua try it!

Before I put my Chihuahua on this food I'd tried so many different brands trying to get him to eat! As I work in a pet shop I found that Royal Canin did breed foods and put him on this straight away. He ate the lot! He always enjoys dinner time and has done great on this food. His coat, teeth and digestion is superb and I wouldn't put him on anything else. I wish I'd tried this sooner!

great product - easy to administer if you know what to do!
cover it in butter use one hand to open your cats mouth (pressing your fingers to the corners of his lips) slide the tablet to the back of the tongue with the other hand avoiding the teeth and use the spare hand to close the cats mouth. once you have done this hold his mouth closed careful to avoid his nose and rub under his chin and along his throat with the other hand - this makes him want to swallow. Once he has swallowed open his mouth again and check hes not hidden it under his tongue. butter is the best for them to take it with as its nice and lubricating. if they attempt to chew it you will probably find it in bits behind the sofa!!

Our home bunnies love this product. We use it in the rabbit run we bought and they love running through it. It is a great exercise and fun time for them. We had to fix it to the side of the rabbit run panels ourselves though to give it a curve due to the lack of space in our home and have made a couple of holes to tie the tunnel to the side panels of the rabbit run and also stapled part of the entry and exit holes to give the right angle as we wished to give the bunnies more comfortable space. Still it is a great product not to be missed.. It is a flexible product to shape as you wish as described..

excellent present!
I have now bought two of these boxes for birthday presents and am very pleased with them. The product arrived very quickly and is sturdily made. My thirty one year old son was thrilled with his and has connected his to skype so that we can view it too. So far there has been a bit of interest from the birds as there is now some foliage in the box. Time will tell if it is popular with the blue tits but it has already been fun setting it up and we are hopeful. There was a slight problem at first with the cabling but the vendor sorted the problem very swiftly.

Gardman Gutter Guard 65500D

Huge Value For Money
After years of having to clear out my gutters, this very basic designed product will save me hours of work. The only tools required are scissors, to easily cut the plastic 'gard' and a hacksaw to cut clips to size.
The 'Gard' itself is a flexible plastic 6mm approx mesh. The clips fit onto the front of the gutter (any shape)and lay on top and over gutter.
Tips: Measure at least twice, cut once. Working on my own, I found it easier to cut shorter 'runs' of gard,maybe 120cm give or take, it's much easier and it fits much more snugly.
You can put two ends of the gard over each clip; you'll understand that more when you come to do the job which by any standards is a piece of cake to complete.
