I bought this because I was fed up with spilling compost all over the place when using a garden trowel to decant from a compost bin (or bag, if I was using bought stuff) into plant pots or other containers. I thought that because of its shape it might be more 'containing' than is a trowel. It definitely makes for more compost/soil in the container and less on the workbench or floor than using a trowel; but to me it does seem quite a bit more cumbersome to handle - maybe inevitable given that it holds so much more than a trowel. Glad I bought it though.

What can I say except this was a good buy and will last for ever. I use it to scoop sugar but it would be useful for anything needing a scoop. The item arrived quickly and was good value for money.
